Who is the donkey?

I am a software developer.   I have been fascinated with computers from a young age.  I get huge satisfaction out of writing code and designing software.  I see it as a creative process and don’t want the code just to work but to work well using best practices and patterns that make my life simpler and the next persons’ along simpler.   I am not here to preach just pass on what knowledge I can.

Why am I writing blogs?

I want to use this blog to track my learning experiences and help others in the process.  I welcome constructive criticism of my posts.  If I am wrong, not getting something or could do something better, I want to know.  I want to improve and get better, that’s the goal of this blog.

What else do I do?

When I am not at a computer, I chase my daughter around and make sure she and I both stay out of trouble.  I’m a runner and hope to run my first half-marathon later on this year.  I enjoy hill walking and get a real peace from being up a hill in middle of nowhere.  I bagged my first munro last year.
